The national Wing Tsun instructor for Ireland, Dai-Sifu Rainer Tausend, returned to Dublin during the weekend of March 22nd and 23rd for a round of both student and instructor seminars. The instructor seminar took place on Saturday the 22nd with attendees from all five schools. (Dublin City Centre, Blanchardstown, Maynooth, Navan and Wexford) Dai-Sifu Tausend began the day checking the participants Siu-Nim-Tau, Cham-Kiu and Biu-Tze forms before moving on to applications of the Biu-Tze form. Following a break each participant worked on their relevant program.
Sifu Aidan Canavan and Sifu Michael O Leary spent a few hours taking private lessons with Dai-Sifu Tausend on the Sunday morning before the afternoons student seminar. Again the seminar had participants from all five schools including Si-Hing Daragh Breathnachs newly opened school in Navan. Dai-Sifu Tausend and the rest of the instructors checked the students on their Siu-Nim-Tau and Cham-Kiu forms and this was followed by various applications where the emphasis was on dissolving the opponents force not only by using the limbs, but also by having a flexible spine.
Following a break and the student examinations, Dai-Sifu Tausend made a number of special presentations. Both Chris Donnelly and Declan Brennan were awarded their 2nd Higher Grade certificate. Chris and Declan are instructors in the Blanchardstown school and received their 1st HG a little over two years ago. Since then they have been working hard on their 5th, 6th and 7th chi-sau sections as well as their Biu-Tze form. Both have been training in Wing Tsun for almost 10 years and have spent the last few years as instructors helping to teach students.
Dai-Sifu Tausend also awarded the 1st HG to Adam Nesbitt. Adam who is also an instructor in the Blanchardstown school, received his 12th student grade over a year ago and has been working hard on his 2nd, 3rd and 4th chi-sau sections. With the presentation of his 1st HG he will now start working properly on his Biu-Tze form as well as 5th-7th chi-sau sections while Chris and Declan and start working on their Biu-Tze chi-sau sections and wooden dummy form.
A special presentation was also made to Martin Casserly and Mo Radiom who are students in the Blanchardstown school. Both Martin and Mo were awarded their instructor t-shirts by Dai-Sifu Tausend and are now recognised as official instructors of the Irish Wing Tsun Organisation (IEWTO). As well as attending student seminars, both also attend instructor seminars and weekly instructor classes.
Congratulations also to the following students who passed their student grade. If your name is not on the list please let us know.
